Georgia Dominates Texas, Solidifying SEC Supremacy

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas and other teams are coming to realize that Georgia remains the top contender in the Southeastern Conference. In a commanding defensive display, Coach Kirby Smart celebrated his 100th victory as Georgia defeated No. 1 Texas 30-15. This win marks Georgia's resurgence after starting the season at the top of the Associated Press poll.

Smart attributes their success to tough experiences faced earlier in the season, stating, "You don't flinch when you've been in these battles." This defensive prowess was evident against Texas, which suffered significant setbacks during one of its most anticipated home games.

Following this victory, Georgia (6-1, 4-1 SEC) climbed to No. 2 in the latest AP poll, leading nine ranked SEC teams. Meanwhile, Texas (6-1, 2-1) dropped to fifth after four spots, while No. 7 Tennessee and No. 8 LSU also secured top-10 positions. The SEC remains a dominant force, boasting four more Top 25 teams than any other conference.

Despite a rough start against Alabama and a win over Kentucky, the Bulldogs are on a three-game winning streak. They now prepare for upcoming SEC games against Florida, No. 18 Ole Miss, and No. 7 Tennessee.

Texas will face No. 25 Vanderbilt next, aiming to regroup for a strong finish to the season. Coach Steve Sarkisian remains optimistic, highlighting that their goals are still within reach despite setbacks.
